Stimulation of strength skills through intervention gymnastics program for people with spinal cord impairment
Belicová, Eliška ; Doležalová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Novotná, Viléma (referee)
Title: Stimulation of strength skills through intervation gymnastic program for people with spinal cord impairment Objectives: The target of the work is to determine the degree of effectiveness of the newly created gymnastic program mediated to probands online, to the level of strength of the upper body and upper limbs of people with spinal cord injury. Methods: The research will be conducted in the form of a quasi-experiment with pre- testing and post-testing measuring. Used data collection methods included field testing, timed 100m dash in a wheelchair and 2kg weight throw and a questionaire. Analysis of found data has been done via descriptive statistics. Results: Results of post-testing showed that upon completion of a six-week interventional program, individuals with spinal cord impairment increased their strength levels in field tests. In the first field test, there was a slight percentage improvement of 5.9%. In the second field test, there was an overall mean percentage improvement of 10.9%. On average, probands improved by 8.4%, a slight to moderate improvement. The questionaires also showed that the trainees enjoyed the provided program. Comparison of the level of balance abilities of artistic gymnasts and Teamgyms
Duspivová, Lucie ; Chrudimský, Jan (advisor) ; Novotná, Viléma (referee)
Title: Comparison of balance of abilities of artistic gymnasts and TeamGym gymnasts Objectives: The aim of this work is to describe the relationship between selected factors and performance in selected balance tests of groups of artistic gymnasts and TeamGym gymnasts and at the same time to verify the effect of the balance beam exercise on the balance ability of TeamGym gymnasts. Methods: Field tests were chosen for data acquisition: stand on dominant and non- dominant limb with closed and open eyes, walking back on balance beam and bench, jumps to balance position (track). Furthermore, a questionnaire survey was used. The obtained data were evaluated by means of Wilcoxon tests for two dependent and independent samples, correlation analysis, materiality investigation for non-parametric data and means of descriptive statistics. The data were also examined in terms of the percentages of the achieved maxima. The intervention method was chosen to verify the influence of the exercises on the balance beams. Results: The relationship of the direct proportion between age and performance in walking back on bench and track test was confirmed, and between height and performance in stand-up tests and track run were confirmed. In addition, a better level of balance skills in artistic gymnasts was demonstrated...
Possibilities of evaluation and development of aerobic fitness of obese individuals
Benešová, Kateřina ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Strejcová, Barbora (referee)
Title: Possibilities of evaluation and development of aerobic fitness of obese individuals Aim of diploma thesis: The aim of the research was to verify the 2km walking test to asses aerobic fitness of individuals who are overweight or obese. Furthemore, whether physical activity lasting two month has a significant effect on the reduction of weight and % body fat of overweight and obese individuals. Methods:. The 2 km walking test was performed at the beginning and end of the intervention. Meanwhile, a group of 6 overweight ( BMI > 25 kg.m-2 ) or obese, grade I, II (BMI < 40 kg.m-2 ) adult men and women (aged 21-56) performed the prescribed physical aktivity based on walking on the "treadmill" and "ride" on the stationary bike in the Reconditioning Center (at VŠTJ Medicina Praha). Description of physical activity: the duration of at least 40 min., 3 times a week for 2 months, moderate intensity (60 % VO2max) measured by a Sport tester. To calculate the index of aerobic fitness of the walk test, we used the predictive equation of Eurofit for adults, weight and body composition was measured using bioimpedance bipedal Tanita scales, we used a survey to assess the level of lifelong physical activity and for an overall health assesment we used PAR-Q questionnaire. Results of the study: 2 km walking test...
Field tests relevancy (equipollence) of endurance predisposition of professional footballers
Paroulek, Martin ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Česák, Petr (referee)
Title: Field tests relevancy (equipollence) of endurance predisposition of professional footballers. Made by: Bc. Martin Paroulek Supervisor: Prof. Ing. Václav Bunc, Csc. Aims: Contribute to solve problems with defining the level of endurance predisposition of professional footballers. Methods: 10 professional footballers were tested. Their average age was 19,1±0,9 years, average weight was 69,2±2,5 kg and average height was 178±4,2 cm. Data was obtained from three functional load tests. Data was processed by means of correlative analysis. Assumed level of equipollence among load tests was defined 0,7. Results: We haven't found significant relation betweeen measured figures of VO2max laboratory load test and measured figures of field 2 km run test. We even haven't found significant relation between measured figures of VO2max laboratory load test and measured figures of field endurance 20 m shuttle run test. As we can see from the results, field tests cannot be considered as adequate compensation of laboratory tests. More research is needed at this field of survey to be able to confirm it or adjust it. We are aware of limits of our survey and its value of notice, for example number of probands etc. It was confirmed that 2 km run test has higher level of equipollence (0,41) in laboratory load test...
